I understand rural mail carriers, but what's the other purpose of a RHD Jeep (or other car) in the States. I get the credo, but what's the point of a RHD car in the states? Surplus supplies that was supposed to be going toward RHD countries? Specifically for mail carriers?

A RHD 2014 Wrangler Unlimited Sport costs 29-30K http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-20… versus a LHD one 27K. around 2k less.

true that, true that.

Dunno why they would sell one on a lot, but yeah, they're just for rural mail carriers. I had a Legacy postal wagon awhile back. As far as I could tell it was visually and functionally identical to a JDM base Legacy except with US lights and labels.

Oh...were you the opponaut with the beater legacy?

I think this was before my opponaut days. Like 2009-ish, maybe before oppo was oppo.

Yes, they are primarily for mail carriers. I would totally order a RHD Wrangler if I had the money! All they need to do now is give us the diesel engine and manual transmission! Too bad Nibby's Jeep isn't RHD :(
JDM. It's a Jeep thing
FWIW, in the 90s, the Subaru Outback and Saturn SW1 were also available in RHD over here.
GM was too stupid to offer a RHD Vibe for us, though. Especially considering the JDM Voltz was made in the SAME factory!

Would totally drive RHD Wrangler with no doors just to confuse everyone.

It's not all that bad, really. Most British drivers have been to France in their cars at least once, and plenty do it regularly. To give you some perspective, we're close enough to the mainland coast that I can see France across the water on a clear day.

Would make a good hire car for tourists from RHD countries. My friend was in the states for a month on holiday and he only managed to get used to driving LHD when he had to come back to the U.K. and ended up grinding his gears for a few hours once bad in the U.K. but that may have more to do with driving LHD automatic and then coming home to his RHD manual.

And too had the voltz didn't get popular in Japan. If so, we could get JDM goodies.

Pretty sure they make them just for mail carriers. Search RHD on Ebay, those things really hold their value!

Yeah, because they aren't any normal left hand drive cars you can get today! And plus it has the advantage of it factory RHD and not like some civics that have a questionable RHD conversion for JDM person who wants a JDM civic.

Not too much is different from the Vibe, except the emblems, the radio, and center caps on the wheels, which you can probably get.
At least we did get the 2ZZ engine :)

Oh, but a some dealers have more than one. I guess it might be a trend locally around Arkansas and Texas.

I prefer my RHD cars from Japan lol. Looks like you discovered that already though.

I went to my local dealership and was shocked to discover that ALL THE CARS ARE RHD!!!!
And then I remembered that I live in Australia.
(None of this actually happened, except that I do live in Australia and all the cars are RHD and I dream of one day driving a LHD car. The laws here pretty much prevent LHD cars except for 'classics'.)

I think most people from RHD countries put up with renting LHD cars, since every other country we can go to is LHD.
I don't have any issues with LHD cars , but then again I love driving cars with the steering wheel on the wrong side . Its a challenge

which is pretty much the same as the Vibe's interior, except the radio. Even if they are different, the Matrix interior is available stateside :)

sincerely and purely to fuck with your friends.
If I owned a RHD Jeep, I would sign up to be DD at every chance I could get.

Being as I am from the UK, I do find that driving a LHD car in a LHD country actually comes quite naturally. However, a RHD car in a LHD country just feels wrong, probably due to positioning.
